Legion AMP

128-Channel, 40dB Preamplifier

The LEGION AMP is a high channel count, compact footprint preamplifier for integration with third-party analog-to-digital converters; Boosting detection of small signals by +40 dB while minimizing background noise (high transmit voltages not supported). For use with Verasonics® Vantage Research Ultrasound Systems and Vantage® NXT systems, in all channel configurations.

Tailored for use with Verasonics® Vantage or Vantage® NXT

PhotoSound Technologies has announced a partnership with Verasonics® to market the Legion™ AMP preamplifier.

Designed for compatibility with Vantage Research Ultrasound Systems and Vantage® NXT systems, the Legion Amp enhances sensitivity and improves quantification of low-frequency signals. Its flat input frequency response, particularly at lower frequencies, supports the use of low-capacitance probes for thermoacoustic imaging and broadband signal measurement.

As a result, Legion AMP benefits include the ability to amplify very weak signals before they are digitized by Vantage Systems. Applications where users have already demonstrated the use of Legion AMP in combination with Vantage Systems include photoacoustic imaging, thermoacoustic imaging, and monitoring radiation therapy, among others. Note that while using the Legion Amp, the Verasonics® Vantage system should operate in receive-mode only.

A PhotoSound Application Note can be found on the Verasonics Community.
